The MTI isn’t just another FIRST Tech Challenge robotics tournament.
Expect jaw-dropping designs, next-level code, and edge-of-your-seat matchups.
Every second on the field is earned. Every victory is forged in sweat, steel, and silicon.
This is where innovation meets intensity, and only the best rise to the challenge.

Our Mission
The mission of the Multinational Tech Invitational (formally the Maryland Tech Invitational) is to bring together FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC) teams from the region, nation and around the world who have demonstrated excellence in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) for a high quality competitive tournament.
MTI is committed to supporting the continued participation of FTC teams. Through grants and in-kind awards applied toward future seasons, MTI helps teams sustain momentum beyond the competition. Since its inception in 2017, MTI has contributed more than $50,000 in direct support to FTC teams. This impact is made possible through the generosity of our sponsors and partners, whose continued support strengthens the FTC community.
In addition to competition, MTI supports students’ exploration of STEM careers through a dedicated STEM Exposition and Intern Networking Program, connecting students with industry professionals, real-world applications, and future pathways in technology and engineering.
The Multinational Tech Invitational gratefully thanks the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory for welcoming the MTI to the Kossiakoff Center and for their continued support through the MTI Intern Networking Program and STEM Expo. Together, MTI and JHU/APL inspire and empower the next generation of STEM leaders.
