A Hands-On Approach to STEM Learning
FIRST LEGO League
Engaging Youth in STEM Exploration
FIRST LEGO League introduces science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to children ages 4-14 through fun, exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics program, helping today’s students and teachers build a better future together.
Our three divisions inspire youth to experiment and grow their critical thinking, coding, and design skills through hands-on STEM learning and robotics.
THE FLL IMPACT
FIRST LEGO League guides youth through STEM learning and exploration at an early age. From Discover, to Explore and then to Challenge, students will understand the basics of STEM and apply their skills in an exciting competition while gaining productive learning habits, confidence, and teamwork skills along the way.

Our Core Values
The FIRST Core Values are the cornerstones of the program. They are among the fundamental elements that distinguish FIRST LEGO League from other programs of its kind.
By embracing the Core Values, participants learn that friendly competition and mutual gain are not separate goals, and that helping one another is the foundation of teamwork.
We express the FIRST philosophies of Gracious Professionalism® and Coopertition® through our Core Values.

Register with FIRST®
Registration for FIRST® LEGO® League opens in May.
Teams will need to start the two-level registration process with national FIRST® registration. The registration fee covers your season and basic team materials. To ensure the safety of our youth, all program volunteers, coaches, and mentors must be screened as part of the FIRST® Youth Protection Program.
Teams must register with the national branch of FIRST LEGO® League to participate in an official district event.
REGISTER & PLAY
Once registered, your team becomes a part of the worldwide FIRST Robotics Competition community. You’ll begin receiving communications from FIRST, along with your permanent team number in preparation for event registration.
This is the second level of the two level registration process. Once you register with FIRST and receive your official team number, teams must register with your local partner in order to participate in a district event.
The Ocean is More Than What you can see on the Horizon.
During the SUBMERGED℠ Season, FIRST LEGO League teams will use creative thinking and LEGO® technology to explore the layers of the ocean and bring their learnings and ideas to the surface as they “sea” into the future.
